"How can we do without the Youth Theatre?" - St. Petersburg actors on the need to open a youth theatre in Murmansk

Actors from St. Petersburg, who visited Murmansk on tour, spoke about the need to create a children's theater in the Arctic capital.

- And if there is no youth theatre? How to increase the audience? How to grow this little person into a big person, a big person? How can we live without it? "It's impossible," said Honored Artist of Russia Regina Shchukina.

According to her, the issues raised in the youth theatre’s performances can help many young people and their parents find a way out of difficult life situations.

The actress also noted that modern children may find it difficult to focus on creative activities due to their dependence on devices and social media, which deprive them of the opportunity to spend leisure time and think creatively.

— I teach at an art school. It’s a disaster. Our students can’t concentrate. It’s a tragedy. Many of them no longer have a working imagination and can’t make up stories. At the same time, they are so overloaded with information that their brains are boiling! People are often very tired. How can you create when you’re tired? Oddly enough, this box in our hands tires us out even more.”
