Putin signs law on deprivation of rights for concealing license plates with special devices
In recent years, devices that allow you to hide your number have become increasingly common. For example, if a driver "turns over" his number plate, a surveillance camera records the back of the number.
Now, liability for driving a vehicle with a device installed that hides the number plate is included in a separate part of Article 12.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. This violation will result in confiscation of the device and loss of the right to drive a vehicle for a period of one to one and a half years.
All devices found will be confiscated. If you make changes, such as driving without a national plate, placing the plate in the wrong place or using reflective film, the fines will remain the same. This entails a fine of 5,000 rubles or deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for a period of 1 to 3 months. However, if this violation is repeated within a year, the driver will lose his license for a period of 1 to 1.5 years.
Please note that the changes to the law also cover cases where the concealment of marks is not entirely intentional.
