Russian military uses captured NATO equipment on battlefield for the first time
The first captured American-made M88A2 Hercules armored recovery vehicle will be put into service in Russia, TASS reports, citing Lieutenant Roman Rusin, commander of the Central Army's evacuation company.
According to him, the first captured armored recovery vehicle of this type was one of those that have been on display on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow since March.
Rusin reported that the M88A2 Hercules, which the Russian military will operate on the front lines, was completely restored with the help of one battalion. The vehicle has already been tested. All tasks related to the evacuation of Russian equipment have been completed.
According to the commander, the vehicle was abandoned near the settlement of Sergeyevka in the Avdeevka direction. We restored and repaired it as quickly as possible. The transportation was carried out using the Russian BREM-1.
