The FAS explained that MTS increased the cost of mobile services by an average of 8% for more than 30 million subscribers in April and May of this year. The service emphasized that the increase is economically unjustified and violates the interests of consumers.
For the first time, antimonopoly authorities have taken measures to confiscate illegal income from tariff increases and transfer these funds to the budget when such crimes are established. "The FAS believes that this is proportionate and will contribute to the effective prevention of unfair practices among telecom operators," the statement says.
The FAS also called on mobile operators, in addition to transferring revenues, to reduce tariffs for subscribers affected by the increase in prices for services.
Earlier it was reported that the FAS would check the prices of popular types of fish. The agency requested relevant information from fishing companies and suppliers.
