Blogger Litvin arrested for fight at football match

The Kuzminsky District Court of Moscow has issued a decision to administratively arrest blogger Mikhail Litvin for 13 days after he took part in a fight during a Media League football match, TASS reports. The court found that Litvin committed petty hooliganism, as provided for by Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

At the court hearing, Mikhail Litvin expressed regret about what had happened and promised that such an incident would never happen again. In addition to Litvin, fan Sergei Plynin, who took part in the fight, was also arrested for 13 days. Like Litvin, Plynin was found guilty of petty violence.

The conflict was caused by an insult shouted at Litvin by a fan of the Rostov team. The blogger could not stand it and went up to the stands to attack the man who insulted him, which prompted the court to intervene.

Media League President Nikolai Osipov said Litvina would be suspended from competition for at least six months. The matter will be considered at a meeting of the Media League Control and Disciplinary Committee next Wednesday.

As the Vzglyad newspaper writes, during the Media League match between Lit Energy and SKA from Rostov-on-Don, blogger Mikhail Litvin hit a fan in the face, which led to a fight involving rapper Vasily Vakulenko (Basta). In 2019, Vasily Vakulenko (Basta) became the owner of the professional football league club of the southern region SKA (Rostov-on-Don).
