A historic cafe will open in Salekhard
The Salekhard authorities are planning to open a historic café in the former building of a savings bank, on the site of the former home of the merchant Kornilov. They will spend about 20 million rubles on catering for tourists, URA.RU learned from a report from the city administration.
"A historic café is planned to be opened in the former building of the Salekhard savings bank. Since 1891, the house of the merchant Kornilov was located on Lenin Street. After a fire in the middle of the last century, it was demolished and a new building was built, where the savings bank operated for a long time. The cost of major repairs to the building will be about 20 million rubles, and the municipal budget will be replenished by the cost of renting the building," the Salekhard administration reported on its Telegram channel.
The building is currently undergoing a major renovation. Builders have dismantled the floors, walls and ceilings and have begun installing the roof and interior finishing. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in early 2025.
