They stole money and consumer goods: a gang of young thieves was caught in the Samara region using DNA

In the Samara Region, members of an organized crime group who stole goods have been detained. Earlier, the police received several reports of the alleged theft of money and consumer goods from stores in the regional capital.

Five criminals were identified using DNA profiles and fingerprints. The leader was a man born in 2003. The young man, who had multiple convictions, organized a group of his acquaintances.

- The perpetrators targeted a retail store and broke a window or forced a door before entering the store and stealing tangible assets and cash. The stolen goods were then sold to random passers-by. The proceeds were divided between the organizer and three other defendants, born in 2002 and 2005. Police also said they had confirmed that the 15-year-old boy, who lives in Samara, was not part of the organized group and had only once engaged in illegal activity.

From September 2023 to February 2024, the gang committed eight crimes. The amount of damage exceeded 859,000 rubles.

- All cases of theft of other people's property will be prosecuted, investigated, combined and filed into one lawsuit. The law enforcement representative noted that the materials of the indictment approved by the prosecution have been sent to court.
