The survey revealed the true attitude of Russians towards the number of migrants in the country

80% of Russians surveyed believe that their region is experiencing a significant influx of labor migrants. The results of a survey conducted by hh.ru and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Russia were published in RBC on October 14.

According to the researchers, over the past year the share of people dissatisfied with their situation has increased by 21 percentage points. The greatest dissatisfaction was expressed by workers in four industries: transport and logistics (92%), the automobile business (91%), security (89%) and construction (85%). Only 12% of respondents assessed the number of migrant workers in Russia as acceptable, and 4% expressed the opinion that there should be more migrants. This point of view is usually shared by IT specialists and workers in the fields of marketing, retail, tourism, public catering and raw materials extraction.

58% of respondents to the survey believe that immigrants usually take jobs that are unsuitable for local residents. 59% believe that migrant labor is cheaper for employers, and half of respondents believe that hiring migrant workers is more profitable because their rights are difficult to protect.

Earlier, a criminal plan to legalize thousands of migrants was uncovered in Moscow. More than 1,000 visitors were illegally registered through a fictitious construction company. The participants in the criminal scheme were able to extend their stay in Russia by concluding fictitious employment contracts with the migrants.
