The Ministry of Labor has proposed to abandon free entry of migrants into Russia

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection plans to change the current system of detention of immigrants in Russia and prohibit them from free entry into the country. This was reported by the head of the department Anton Kotyakov in an interview with Vedomosti.

The minister said that the format for issuing work patents is outdated and needs to be reformed.

“After free entry into the country, it is wrong to spend a long time looking for an employer whose employment conditions are unclear,” says Anton Kotyakov.

The union leader also noted that employers bear the costs of training and medical examinations of migrants and that there is no guarantee that workers will not leave after this. He also said that the service sector attracts immigrants from construction and manufacturing companies.

According to Kotyakov, this problem can be solved by making immigrants responsible for returning the money spent if they leave. You will also have to bear some of these costs at the initial stage. For example, Kotyakov suggested preparing documents, medical examinations and training in the countries to which immigrants move. According to him, attention should be paid to qualified specialists.

Earlier it became known that the State Duma is preparing amendments to laws related to the adaptation of Russian immigrants. The innovation is planned to affect documents related to knowledge of the Russian language, education and social adaptation.
