Australian warden faces trial for associating with convicted robber
A woman in Australia has been put on trial for having sex with a convicted robber, the Daily Star reports.
Amber Clavell worked in drug and alcohol rehabilitation and began a relationship with inmate Michael Kennedy, smuggling him cigarettes and drugs and hiding them in her bra.
Eventually, the 25-year-old became pregnant by Kennedy and shared him with a co-worker. Her relationship with the inmate was revealed to authorities. The guard pleaded guilty to misconduct in office and was fired.
The court sentenced her to 200 hours of community service. Clavell already has two small children. The woman almost cried when the sentence was announced.
Earlier in Algeria, a persecuted tourist was jailed for criticizing the authorities.
