The brightest comet in decades spotted in Sverdlovsk region Photo
Comet Zijinshan-ATLAS was discovered over Nizhnyaya and Verkhnyaya Salda (Sverdlovsk region). This is the brightest event in the last 13 years.
"The brightest comet in the sky over Salda. This weekend, comet C/2023 A3 (Zijinshan-ATLAS), the brightest comet in the last 13 years, approached Earth," the "vSalda" group reported on the VKontakte social network.
The Ural Hydrometeorological Center reported that the comet could be observed in the northern part of the region. This was witnessed by residents of the south and Yekaterinburg, when the clouds in the sky diminished by October 13. After 18:30 from the 13th to the 15th local time, the celestial body will be visible to the naked eye on the western side of the horizon between Venus and the star Arcturus.
