October is the best time to whiten trees. Gardener Marina Ivanova shared a recipe for whitewashing that is suitable for trees and seedlings of any age and is not washed off by rain and snow. This whitewash can protect trees from frost and also scare away rodents and hares.
This miracle remedy consists of 2 kg of chalk, 200 g of copper sulfate and 1.5 l of water. All this should be mixed until thick and smooth.
The next step is to knead the dough from half a kilogram of flour with half a liter of milk and a glass of vegetable oil. This mixture should be added to the chalk. It reliably fixes the whitewash on the tree and prevents it from being washed off by rain or snow. Next, liquid glass should be added to the resulting solution, which will repel pests and strengthen the whitewash, AiF reports.
