Su-34 of the Russian Aerospace Forces struck a stronghold and a concentration of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel in the Kursk region
Su-34 fighter-bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces attacked fortresses and troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) concentrated in the Kursk border region. As a result of the attack, the target was destroyed, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
When carrying out the strike, Russian soldiers used aerial bombs equipped with a universal planning and correction module (UMPK), department representatives clarified.
After completing the mission, the Su-34 crew safely returned to the departure airfield. There, the military received intelligence confirmation that the intended target had been destroyed.
Fighting with Ukrainian forces has been ongoing in the Kursk region since August 6. In connection with this, a federal state of emergency has been declared in the region and a counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime is being implemented.
According to the latest data, during the battles in the Kursk direction, Ukrainian troops lost a total of more than 226 thousand soldiers and 157 tanks. In addition, Ukrainian forces lost 72 infantry fighting vehicles, 98 armored personnel carriers, 909 armored fighting vehicles, 619 vehicles, 186 artillery pieces, 36 MLRS and other weapons.
