Avtomobilist suffers disappointing loss to Rotenberg's team in St. Petersburg

The Avtomobilist hockey club lost to St. Petersburg SKA. The Urals team lost four goals to Roman Rotenberg's team in the third period. The 16th round of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) ended with a score of 5:2 (1:1, 0:1, 4:0). The meeting took place in the St. Petersburg Ice Palace, the website khl.ru reports.

In the first period, both teams scored a goal. The first goal was scored by SKA forward Evgeny Kuznetsov, who went one-on-one with the opponent's goalie and beat him. Avtomobilist responded with a goal by former St. Petersburg forward Brendan Leipsic. The puck bounced off.

In the second half, HC Avtomobilist was able to take the lead thanks to a goal by forward Brooks Machek. In the third quarter, using a 5-on-3 power play, SKA scored 4 goals and won with a final score of 5-2. The goals were scored by the army forwards Sergei Plotnikov, Zakhar Bardakov, Vasily Glotov and Arseniy Gritsyuk, who shot into the empty Avtomobilist net.

After this round, HC Avtomobilist is in 3rd place in the regular championship and 2nd place in the Eastern Conference of the KHL with 20 points. The Yekaterinburg team won the last match in a shootout against CSKA in Moscow.
