In the folk calendar, October 13 is called St. Gregory's Day or Gregory of Straw. On this day, before the intercessory prayer, the old straw on the mattress was burned and filled with new. This was done to prevent diseases. On this day, water was poured through a sieve on the threshold of the house so that even small children would not get sick. Even on the eve of the Intercession, I washed myself in the bathhouse and dressed in clean clothes.
