The much-talked-about Russian game "Smuta" was updated on National Unity Day: what has changed

The developers of the game "Trouble", which became a big event in the video game industry, released update 2.0.0, which includes fixes, patches and new voice actors. The update is dedicated to the National Unity Day. Because the game itself is dedicated to the events remembered on this date. The presentation took place on November 4 at the "1612" festival in VK Play Arena in Moscow.

The 1612 festival brought together the capital's youth for a celebration at VK Play Arena. The modern place turned into an ancient city with fairs, hay, pumpkins, restaurants and shows.

Together with their parents, the children mastered folk crafts, studied fonts, made dolls and horses from bast, and talked with historians about little-known milestones of the Time of Troubles.

"We teach everyone how to paint blades, engrave metal keychains and write with quills," say the organizers.

- We serve everyone rye bread with prunes. We bake it in unique clay molds from Slavyansk and Voronezh. What's unique about it? The strength of the material is such that scratching it is not a problem, and the products can be baked without oil," said Maksim Edlin, a baker and founder of Edlin Bread.

After the interactive session, everyone was invited to be the first to play the updated Smuts. There were 89 computers in the room. I was able to test it for free.

“I discovered the new basic mechanics and voice acting in the first few minutes,” said Anna from Moscow.

“The combat system has become more dynamic, the enemies have become more aggressive and smarter,” said Muscovite Andrey.

Fans of the video game "Trouble" appreciated the updated version of the theatrical performance. This is the first demo version of the gameplay after several significant additions. Alexey Koptsev, CEO of Cyberia Nova, the developer of the game "Trouble", appeared in person as a boyar in a suit and with a toy sword in his hands. There were battles and victories on the stage.

- We have gathered here to celebrate National Unity Day. Let us remember that 413 years ago our glorious ancestors expelled a group of international mercenaries from the walls of the Moscow Kremlin. And this event became a turning point that directed Russian history in the right direction. While creating the game, we studied historical facts and figures of that time. We searched for a long time for a genre and wanted to create a game that would be useful for students, - said Alexey Koptsev.

"Time of Troubles" was first released six months ago in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. This is a game from the Russian developer Cyberia Nova. The project, dedicated to the Time of Troubles in Russia, is based on the novel by Mikhail Zagoskin "Yuri Miloslavsky, or the Russians of 1612". But books are not games. Narratives of computer adventures should be more dynamic. The original story had to be reworked. Five historical consultants were brought in so that players could not only play, but also immerse themselves in that era and learn previously unknown facts. It took almost nine years to create "Problems".

The artists chose such important places as Nizhny Novgorod, Teply Stan, Yaroslavl, Moscow. You can see a wide river, beautiful sunsets, forests and the Kremlin. Creating music for the games was also not an easy task. They had to mix the sounds of the era of Ivan the Terrible with electronics.

In six months, millions of people downloaded the game. However, it was not without criticism. Players discovered a bug that interfered with the development of the plot. With the help of volunteer testers, more than 1,000 defects were found. That is why it was necessary to refine and improve "Smut".

- The reaction of the viewers watching the game was very enthusiastic. We received a fantastic response. The game became more beautiful and less sluggish. Most of the comments were about the combat units. We added animal opponents, namely wolf packs. The guards became smarter and acquired a "sixth sense", - says Alexey Koptsev.

Innovation in games has become important. The world now looks more realistic, a stealth system has been added, and secondary characters begin to interact with each other better. The developers brought in new actors to rewrite some lines.

- At first, we replaced the voice actors because the emphasis was on theater. But we live in a different era, and our target audience is more reserved and therefore irritated by such theatrical manners. Now it is more dynamic and cinematic." Alexey Koptsev said:

The game update will be available to all owners starting November 4. Just click the "Download" button. And new owners of the game will already receive the updated version.

- Combat part: protection from interference, combat role of opponents, group work, precise attack distance, "eternal blocks" are a thing of the past, wolf tactics, the wounded are left behind.

- Will the game be updated every 6 months?

- No. We have completely updated the game. And we are thinking about a sequel. It will be a new game. It is also a historical event. We have something to say. We know that there are requests to play "Smuta" on consoles, but at the moment it will be impossible due to sanctions," Alexey Koptsev, CEO of Cyberia Nova, the developer of the game "Smuta", told KP.RU.
