Infants are dying in the perinatal center of Khabarovsk Krai: the head of the Investigative Committee has taken control of the case
Khabarovsk, November 5, FederalPress. Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin personally supervised the investigation of a criminal case on complaints about inadequate medical care at the Khabarovsk Perinatal Center. Women in labor and newborns often suffer injuries, some of which are fatal.
The Information Center of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation added that documents on the causes of death of newborns in perinatal centers were falsified. To date, no one has been held accountable for the death of the child. The regional department of the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case, and Alexander Bastrykin demanded the conclusion of the investigation.
FederalPress has already written about another tragic story from the Khabarovsk Perinatal Center. A young woman gave birth to a stillborn child at 36 weeks. She claims that she asked for tests and talked to her doctor about her complaints, but received help too late.
Let me remind you that the medical situation in Khabarovsk Krai remains difficult. Immediately after being appointed acting governor of the region, Dmitry Demeshin addressed this issue. He personally went to the hospital, held a meeting and sternly asked deputy Yevgeny Nikonov and the Minister of Health: Both eventually lost their positions, and Nikonov was also brought to trial. In October, the Khabarovsk Ministry of Health was headed by a new person who came to the region from Kaluga Oblast.
