FBI Sets Up Election Security Command Post in Washington
As reported on the agency's website, the decision was made in response to numerous threats received by representatives of the US Electoral Commission, RIA Novosti reports.
The command center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is tasked with combating election-related crimes, threats to electoral bodies, cyber threats, hostile foreign influence operations, and potential terrorist attacks.
Remember how the Times reported yesterday that Washington had begun boarding up buildings and beefing up security ahead of the presidential election, fearing unrest and protests. Earlier, it was reported that a new security fence had surrounded the White House.
