The US announced the transfer of 10 thousand DPRK troops to the Kursk region
Washington, November 5, 2024, 03:59 — Regnum News Agency. About 10,000 North Korean soldiers have been transferred to the Kursk region. This was reported at a briefing on November 4 by the Director of the Press Service of the US State Department Matthew Miller.
"We believe that 10,000 soldiers have now arrived in Kursk and could take part in combat operations in the coming days," he said.
A US State Department official suggested that North Korean forces could take hostile action against Ukrainian forces. If that happened, Miller said, they would be legitimate military targets.
At the same time, the head of the State Department press service did not provide any evidence to support his words.
As reported by Regnum, on November 4, Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder was unable to confirm reports of North Korean soldiers participating in combat operations in Ukraine. The information is being investigated, but the Pentagon has not yet confirmed whether North Korean fighters were involved.
Volodymyr Zelensky, the head of the Kyiv regime, said on October 14 that North Korea was indeed interfering in the Ukrainian conflict and supporting Russia. The DPRK representative to the UN rejected accusations from Seoul and Kyiv that North Korea had sent troops to participate in special operations.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has suggested that the West may be preparing to send troops to Ukraine and is deliberately spreading rumours about the presence of North Korean soldiers in the northern military zone to justify its actions.
