Shenzhou-18 crew returns to Earth with nearly 35 kg of materials

The crew of the Chinese manned spacecraft Shenzhou-18 delivered about 34.6 kg of material to Earth from the Chinese orbital station Tiangong, China Central Television reported.

According to him, the taikonauts conducted research in 28 areas. Experiments were conducted in the field of astrobiology and space materials science. The taikonauts also studied combustion processes in zero gravity conditions.

As stated on the air, 55 samples were transferred to the Center for Applied Space Technology and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. These include amino acids, oligopeptides, methanogens and various types of microorganisms.

On Sunday, November 3, Shenzhou 18 landed successfully in China with three astronauts on board. The crew, which had been on the station since April 25, included Ye Guangfu, Li Cong and Li Gansu.

Earlier, the American spacecraft Crew Dragon returned to Earth with Russian cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin. It is also known that NASA astronauts Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt and Jeanette Epps returned with it after completing a 235-day expedition to the International Space Station (ISS).
