Tambov Region Governor Announces Resignation
Tambov Region Governor Maxim Egorov announced on Monday, November 4, that he was resigning. He posted a video of the statement on his Telegram channel.
"Today, the country's leadership gave me another task at the federal level," the regional director said. He did not disclose any details about his new job. Yegorov also did not name his successor.
"I am a true Tambovite, I am glad that the "Tambov wolves" are now comrades," said Yegorov. He expressed gratitude to local residents and said that the Tambov region has been his home for many years.
Maxim Egorov was appointed acting governor of Tambov Oblast on October 4, 2021. On the only election day, September 19, 2021, he won the gubernatorial election with 84.95% of the vote. He officially took office on September 20.
Earlier, Maksim Egorov accused Morshansk Mayor Alexey Bannikov of feeling guilty after he made a statement to the sister of a serviceman during a special operation in Ukraine.
