Infected children are being isolated: schools and kindergartens are introducing morning filters due to the outbreak of Coxsackie virus
Morning filters include checking for signs of illness.
On November 4, Rospotrebnadzor reported on the organization of morning filters in schools and kindergartens in the regions of the Russian Federation after mass reports of cases of the Coxsackie virus. Let me remind you that parents complained of infections early. Similar symptoms in children were registered simultaneously in several parts of the country.
"In connection with the information that cases of the Coxsackie virus are being recorded in some regions of Russia, Rospotrebnadzor will monitor the introduction of morning filters in schools and kindergartens," the department reported.
Morning screenings include checking for signs of illness such as fever, cough, runny nose and other symptoms.
- If your child shows signs of illness, he/she will be isolated from the group until complete recovery. In addition, in order to prevent the spread of infection among other children and staff, mandatory measures are taken to separate children in contact, restrictive measures are introduced in accordance with current sanitary norms and rules, the sanitary doctor explained.
The first symptoms of the virus are fever, headache, muscle pain, sore throat, nausea and abdominal pain. The infection also manifests itself as skin rash, upper respiratory tract lesions, stomatitis and herpangina (blisters on the oral mucosa and tonsils), conjunctivitis, scleritis, diarrhea and possible development of meningitis.
The virus often attacks the heart, pleura, liver and pancreas, often causing severe abdominal pain, chest pain and a rash. Most people affected are children under 15 years of age.
