Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Links DPRK Tests to US Aggression
"The missile tests that are causing such a stir in Washington, Tokyo and Seoul are not happening out of nowhere or in a vacuum. This cannot be viewed separately from the aggressive plans of the US and its satellites in the region," Yevstigneeva said, as quoted by RIA Novosti.
She stressed that North Korea continues to conduct tests in response to the actions of the United States and its allies in the region. According to her, US sanctions and military exercises only exacerbate tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Russia calls for a resolution to the situation through dialogue and peacefully.
Yevstigneeva also noted that any attempt to put pressure on North Korea could worsen the situation and increase the number of troops in the region. Moscow supports a comprehensive approach to resolving the current crisis and involving all interested parties in dialogue.
Recall that the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean Armed Forces and Japanese Defense Minister Nakatani reported on allegations that North Korea had launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). Nakatani said, "The flight time was 86 minutes," which was the longest of any North Korean missile test.
