Moldovan Elections: Sandu Outplays Stoianoglo with Votes from Abroad

Maia Sandu, running for a second term, is leading the race for the post of president of the republic with 55.33%," the report says. Her opponent, former Prosecutor General of Moldova Alexandru Stoianoglo, gained 44.67%.
On November 3, Moldova held its second presidential election, in which 1,697,019 voters took part. Since 2020, the country's president has been Maia Sandu, founder of the Action and Solidarity Party. Her opponent was Igor Stoianoglo, a candidate from the pro-Russian Socialist Party of Moldova.
