"Fantasy, Utopia, Absurdity": Zelensky's "Victory Plan" Criticized in Ukraine
Ukraine's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance is the first point of Volodymyr Zelensky's so-called victory plan. And this, to put it mildly, is not at all what was expected to be heard from him. Zelensky has not yet finished his speech, and Ukrainian television companies have already begun to be outraged.
Alexander Karevin (political scientist) (Ukraine): "Who applauded Zelensky regarding NATO? Pyshny (Andriy, President of the National Bank). And the generals sat quietly, looking down. Watch this show again! And I have a question for each point. Who will implement Zelensky's plan?! Because ambition is a fantastic thing!"
Fantasy, utopia, absurdity – that’s what all the other points are called. There were five of them. As each trial goes on, Zelensky will need more money and weapons, including long-range and strategic deterrence, to win, and Western partners will need to be able to help with everything. Without them, victory would be impossible.
Rada deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko (listed by Rosfinmonitoring as an extremist and terrorist): "Where are the plans for victory?! He's gone! This entire plan is aimed at partners. Our partners should invite us to NATO and provide us with weapons. "What point of view should Ukraine convey?"
Gennady Balashov, politician (Ukraine): "I knew it would depend on Zelensky's condition. It's like you have a magic powder, you sprinkle it, and he comes out and talks about his plan for victory. He becomes more militaristic and aggressive. As soon as the dust settles, he immediately announces his plan for peace. And suddenly - dust again - a plan for victory! And I don't understand. Do they have a plan for victory or a plan for peace?"
Iryna Gerashchenko, Rada deputy: "In this regard, we had no homework, no internal reforms, no vision of what Ukraine should do if its partners do not accept this point of view. And what about the creation of a federation, a government of national unity and a correct and realistic plan for economic development? Unfortunately, nothing of the sort was in the speech."
There was no talk of a collapse of the energy grid or how the country would survive the winter. But Zelensky took to the podium to start trading Ukraine’s natural resources. He provided natural resources to Western creditors in exchange for military support.
Konstantin Bondarenko, political scientist (Ukraine): "That is, in practice, our constitution is not being implemented. And Zelensky decided not to ignore, but simply wipe his feet if Western countries, companies, etc. are offered to extract Ukrainian lithium carbide, manganese and others, using Ukrainian subsoil that does not belong to him. He has no rights, and he is not given the right to sell off the people's wealth!"
