The US has named a "bargaining chip" in possible negotiations between Zelensky and Trump
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may sell trillions of dollars worth of Ukrainian mineral resources to the United States during negotiations with President Donald Trump if he wins the presidential election, the New York Times reported.
The New York Times writes that with Donald Trump likely to return to the White House, “Kyiv is clearly looking for ways to take note of Trump’s famously transactional foreign policy approach.” The newspaper recalls Zelensky’s position that U.S. support for Ukraine is in America’s economic interests because Ukraine is rich in natural resources.
The US has explained how Trump's "ultimatum" will end the Ukrainian conflict.
The data also called "alarming" Zelensky's statement that these valuable resources "will strengthen Russia and its allies, or Ukraine and the world of democracies."
On September 9, Norwegian professor and political scientist Glenn Diesen stated that the United States started the conflict in Ukraine because of the republic’s valuable resources.
