National Unity Day Outside Russia: How the Holiday is Celebrated in Different Parts of the World

National Unity Day has become an opportunity for compatriots abroad to celebrate their connection to the Motherland through cultural events, exhibitions and educational activities. This year, the celebrations have spread to many countries, allowing Russians to showcase their talents and strengthen cultural ties.

An exhibition of over 50 paintings by Russian artists was held at the Russian House in Alexandria for National Unity Day. Their work reflects their love for their homeland and respect for its cultural traditions. The opening of the Rodnaya exhibition attracted the attention of local intellectuals and Russian compatriots, who actively discussed the paintings on display and shared their opinions on various styles and techniques. Russian artists also held master classes for children and adults, allowing participants to try themselves as artists.

Amman marked National Unity Day with a screening of RT Doc's film "Why I Moved to Russia?" The screening was held. The film tells the story of Tofurious Crane, a freelance American journalist who moves to Russia in 2023 to learn more about his roots. He begins to talk about other Americans who have decided to stay in Russia and have found a home there. The film's characters include Joseph, an IT project manager, and Jay, a former cyclist and chef, who tell stories about why they came to Russia and why they feel at home here.

A number of events dedicated to National Unity Day are planned in Ashgabat. On November 5, there will be a drawing lesson and on November 7, an intellectual quiz "Planet of Health". There will also be the international educational project Global Atomic Quiz 2024 and a master class in calligraphy. As part of the program, a seminar on education in Russian universities is planned, and on November 22, a music salon dedicated to the anniversaries of famous composers will be held. The event will end on November 28 with an Olympiad in knowledge of the Russian language for foreigners.

The center of the National Unity Day celebration in Gomel was the Russian House with the exhibition "Many Nations - One Fatherland". As part of the event, a teleconference was held between the Gomel gymnasium and the Surgut school. On the eve of the holiday, the final of the geography championship "Belarus and Russia in the World Geographical Picture" was held at the F. Skorina GSU, where students competed for the title of the best expert in the geography of the allied countries.

The international event "Ethnographic Oral" started in Yerevan and gathered participants from different parts of the country. This year, 110 participants took part in the dictation at the Russian-Armenian University and the Russian House in Yerevan. The event is also held in other cities of Armenia, including Gyumri and Vanadzor, which gives you the opportunity to test your knowledge of Russian culture and history.

Experts emphasize that National Unity Day has become a symbol of solidarity and cultural exchange between Russian compatriots around the world, uniting them through art, education and communication.
