Ural gamer deceived several students, luring millions for the sake of Dota 2
A gamer from Sukhoi Log used his inexplicable influence to extort money from schoolgirls. This was reported by E1.ru with reference to the Yekaterinburg Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the police, several girls were injured by a 24-year-old gamer from Sukhoi Log, Dmitry. When we met, he told me that he was reselling virtual items in Dota 2 and that he needed funds to withdraw his earnings, and that he had borrowed a large sum from his girlfriend for his "business". The girls, ready to do anything for their loved ones, took out loans and saved up, but the fraudster was not going to return the money.
"[Dmitry] complained that he had large debts and was experiencing financial difficulties. To help her loved one, Elya even took out a loan of 1.5 million dollars, pledging her apartment. Before that, we transferred hundreds of thousands of dollars. He promised to return it, but never did," said a friend of one of the victims.
At that time, Dmitry and 23-year-old Elya lived together, but he broke up with her and started dating a young student. She ended up giving the gamer almost half a million dollars. Both girls filed statements with the police. A criminal case was opened against the man. He is accused, among other things, of fraud on an especially large scale. Now the police are looking for other victims of the fraudster.
Earlier, a widow from Chelyabinsk transferred 5.5 million rubles to her “fiancé” from Germany over two years of correspondence.
