Russians complain about the spread of Coxsackie virus in kindergartens and schools
Russians complain about the Coxsackie virus in kindergartens and schools. Cases of the disease in children with similar symptoms have been registered not only in the Moscow and Vladimir regions, but also in the Krasnodar region. Parents are concerned that the infections could have been brought in by tourists returning from Turkey.
As a mother of children in a kindergarten in Vladimir told SHOT, one of the children was in a group infected with the virus, and all the children began to get sick one after another, more than 20 children were infected in total. Many people first get ulcers in their mouths, and then a rash appears on their bodies. According to the parents, the doctor at the local hospital said it was Coxsackie, but the certificate said ARVI.
"I was given seven days of sick leave, and now I have been discharged. When I went to open a sick leave, the pediatrician said that this was not the only case. In general, the virus has become more active since the summer. Representatives of Rospotrebnadzor also came to the kindergarten," the patient's parents said.
Residents of Krasnodar Krai are also talking about the virus. According to parents of sick children, at least one schoolchild was diagnosed with Coxsackie disease in the hospital.
"We live in the Krasnodar region, which is also a tourist destination. My nephew competes in MMA, so maybe he competed there too. In our village, children under 11 often get blisters on their hands and feet, fever, and symptoms such as stomatitis in the mouth. Everyone has mild symptoms," said a resident of Novorossiysk.
There is a patient with similar symptoms in Moscow. At least three children are now known to be suffering from the characteristic rash and high fever.
"On the first day, the child's temperature was 39.1, a small rash appeared on the palms and redness on the neck. On the third day, the temperature was a little lower, but remained, and the rash on the palms became brighter, a rash also appeared on the palms. There is a leg, but there is a larger ulcer on it. On the fourth day, the temperature rises a little, the rash remains," said Muscovite Alena, the mother of a six-year-old child.
