Taiwan's Ministry of Economy Announces End of Machine Tool Supplies to Russia

Taiwan has completely stopped supplying machine tools to Russia. This was reported on the website of the island's Ministry of Economy.

They recalled that since March 8, Taipei has banned the export of 77 types of equipment to Russia and Belarus, including electrical discharge machines, machining centers, turning, milling and grinding machines.

The Ministry of Defense noted that the export of equipment to Russia had dropped to zero, which indicates that control measures had achieved “preliminary results.”

Foreign experts have previously noted that Russia's freezing of foreign assets, excluding financial institutions from the international space, and halting trade will only strengthen Russia's ties with other global partners, including China and Iran. In this regard, the Russian economy has been growing steadily despite Western sanctions.

Earlier, Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov noted that the Russian economy was showing signs of cooling at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth quarter of 2024. The reason, according to the minister, is that the direction of trade has changed. This is due to the fact that more than 80% of current trade sales are carried out through friendly countries. However, in 2021, this same figure was less than half.
