Seven members of the Orekhovskaya organized crime group arrested in Moscow in connection with murders
Russian security forces said seven members of the group, last active in Moscow, had been detained on charges of murder and attempted murder.
They have already been charged with five murders and one attempted murder between November 1998 and April 2006. During a search of the house, the inmates found firearms, ammunition and grenades.
Meanwhile, Baza wrote that members of the Orekhovskaya group were arrested for the murder. Among them is Yevgeny Sterlyadkin, assistant to the president of the Russian Union of Afghan Veterans. He is also accused of murdering Nikolay Vetoshkin, one of the Orekhovskaya leaders, who was shot dead near a store in 1998.
