Irkutsk Region restricts alcohol sales at night
Irkutsk, October 17, FederalPress. In the Irkutsk region, the sale of alcohol in residential buildings at night has been significantly restricted. The bill was adopted at a plenary session of the local council.
In the Irkutsk region, restrictions have been introduced on the sale of alcohol in residential buildings. The sale of alcohol is prohibited in bars, buffets and snack bars located in residential buildings or in nearby areas from 10:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. The reason for this decision is the frequent complaints of residents of the Angara region about so-called "nalivayki". However, these restrictions do not apply to cafes and restaurants that have a license to sell alcohol.
The regional council reminded that Irkutsk region is not the first region where such measures have been introduced. Various restrictions are already in effect in 36 federal subjects, and some are being tightened, up to and including a complete ban.
