The driver of the Dovlatov tram who hit pedestrians on Nalichnaya has been sentenced
The Vasileostrovsky District Court of St. Petersburg announced the verdict to Sergei Borshichevsky, the driver of the Dovlatov tram, who hit a pedestrian on Nalichnaya Street in April. This was reported by the joint press service of the city court on the Neva.
The tragedy occurred on the afternoon of April 12. A tram hit a pedestrian at the intersection of Odoevskogo and Nalichnaya streets near the Primorskaya metro station. Three people were injured in the accident, and a 45-year-old woman, A., later died.
The investigation found that the tram's braking system was faulty. The driver failed to check the brakes properly when leaving the garage and failed to brake in time, exceeding the speed limit.
