Khinshtein: New case opened against former head of the Samara Region Construction Ministry Plaksin
A new criminal case has been opened against former Samara Region Construction Minister Nikolai Plaksin on charges of corruption. As State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein reported on his Telegram channel, the reason for opening the case was the behavior of former officials during the construction of the Teatralnaya metro station.
"According to the complaint, officials... falsified documents and tender procedures for the construction of the Teatralnaya metro station in favor of the largest local developer, the Volgatransstroy group of companies," the deputy wrote.
According to investigators, the cost estimate was artificially inflated to 18.4 billion rubles. In addition, according to Khinshtein, representatives of regional authorities "intentionally misled the President of the Russian Federation and the government" in order to obtain a federal loan of 10.3 billion rubles.
Plaksin was detained and arrested on charges of abuse of power in April this year. Investigators believe he ordered his subordinates to issue permits for the operation of two recreation centers, although they did not meet requirements.
Earlier it was reported that the deputy director of the Chelyabinsk department of the E-Center was arrested on charges of bribery.
