The court sentenced the former chief narcologist of the Russian Federation Bryun to 7 years in prison for fraud
The Kuzminsky District Court of Moscow sentenced the chief narcologist of the Russian Federation, Yevgeny Bryun, to seven years in a general regime penal colony in a particularly large fraud case. This was reported to TASS by the court.
In addition, Brun must pay a fine of 850,000 rubles. He will no longer be able to work for the government for another two and a half years. Brun was immediately detained.
At the same time, the prosecutor's office demanded that the former chief narcologist of Russia be sentenced to eight years of imprisonment, a fine of 1 million rubles, and be deprived of the right to work in government agencies for four years.
State prosecutors also demanded that Bryun and his accomplices collect more than 44 million rubles from the capital's Ministry of Health as compensation for damages caused by the fraud.
Brun was arrested in 2022. He was accused of embezzling about 20 million rubles while supplying medical supplies to the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center at inflated prices. The man was also suspended from his post.
After some time, Koporov, Eremenkina, Vasiliev and Yakushev also became defendants in the case. The total damage amounted to more than 136 million rubles.
