Ravil Nogumanov: “We won in front of Karelin, Khasikov, Steven Seagal”
“When Kiriyenko started performing, I began to suspect that we would win.”
— Ravil Uelovich, Dinar Karimullin How did you react to the decision to award the prize and how did the award ceremony go?
— I knew that Dinara was nominated for the award, but, frankly, I did not expect such a level of recognition. As for nominations, since 2018 we have been nominating for several awards, including "Athlete and Trainer" and "Discovery of the Year".
Within our federation, Dinar has already won the highest titles last year, winning the world championship, the Russian championship and the national wrestling koresh at the Briggs Games in Kazan. He also won a silver medal at the Nomad Games in Kazakhstan. In response to our application, we were informed that Dinar was nominated. And the president of the Russian Martial Arts Federation (RSMI), first deputy head of the presidential administration Sergey Kiriyenko began his speech by saying that there are wrestlers who have won such competitions, world championships, Russian championships and BRICS games. . , in general, I began to guess that he listed all of Dinara's successes, but the surprise was so great that he did not even have time to film the moment of the award ceremony. Moreover, I had to leave that same day, and they could not even properly celebrate, because, as they said, I did not have a suitcase. Only then did the realization of victory come, the all-Russian recognition of our wrestlers and our work in general.
This also happened in front of the entire martial arts community of the country, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Trutnev (7th dan Kyokushin karate) and the head of the Republic of Kalmykia Batu Khasikov Alexander. Karelin, Steven Seagal - on the other hand, all VIP officials related to martial arts, the entire high community of the carpet and the ring, dodianga and tatami.
— In the process of being completely or partially removed from international competitions, the International Wrestling Federation Koresh not only held all the scheduled competitions, such as the World Championship and other international competitions, but also held two additional competitions, including the start of the BRICS Games and the Nomad Games.
— We were lucky that the BRICS Games were scheduled before the World Championships, and we had two international starts in practically one race. In fact, the World Championships were larger. Some did not have time to participate or get certified for the BRICS Games, since about eight more participating countries were added during the World Championships.
I would like to separately mention the Nomad game. We immediately believed in this national sports project, and this year was just a bomb, in a good way. According to various sources, 89 or 92 countries participated from Kazakhstan, but it does not matter. There were about 90 countries in total. And then there was Russia, which had all the attributes of a state without any confrontation with other participating countries.
— The First Deputy Minister of Sports of Tatarstan, Khalil Shaikhutdinov, spoke about the pride he feels when the award ceremony takes place with the singing of the national anthem and the raising of the flag, which we have only just begun to get used to.
- That's it. If you go to the competition without hiding your qualities, your athletes will stand on the podium, and everyone knows that this is Russia. That's powerful! Now we are surrounded by countries that are usually called unfriendly, but at this National Sports Mini-Olympiad we are not showing unfriendly attitudes towards anyone. We have good relations with the President of the International Ethnosport Association Bilal Erdogan. With his blessing, the Tatarstan assistant took part in the Nomad Games for the second time. Despite the fact that the Turkic peoples and dialects that form the backbone of the peoples participating in the Nomad Games have very different types of national wrestling.
As a result, the Tatar Koresh competitions, as we call them, were held in four weight categories. Russia is a great power with a large number of republics, regions, areas and territories, so we welcome its entry into the Federation with its entire army of fighters, with broad public participation.
Respect for our sport was expressed, first of all, in the fact that our trip took place in the main arena of the Nomad Games – the Zhaksalyk Ushkempirov Wrestling Palace.
— After all, the BRICS Games and the Nomad Games were not initially included in the mandatory number of starts in the schedule scheme, the implementation of which is sacred for all sports. And these are championships of the republic, federal district, country and, finally, the world, which are financed by sports federations. And here are two new, large-scale and comprehensive beginnings.
— And here we are deeply grateful to Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov from Tatarstan, who assured us that the financing of preparation and participation in the listed starts will be full, since there was no centralized financing of athletes and each region paid for it independently. We have never had a question about whether Russians have the right to participate in international competitions. To avoid a sense of bragging, one federation was afraid that the participation of Russians would lead to punishment from the parent international organization, but this did not happen, and we really did not feel any sanctions or outside views on international competition. Moreover, we used to participate as a team from Tatarstan, and this year for the first time in the Nomad Games one Russian team participated. In this regard, there were many representatives of Tatarstan in the wrestling program - more than 40, including representatives of the referee corps.
— Zhaksalyk Ushkempirov is a more successful competitor to Kazan's Anatoly Bozin, who is also a candidate for participation in the Moscow Olympics. Our Kazakh brothers named not only the city, the country, but also the main wrestling hall after Ushkempirov. When will we have sports complexes named after sports heroes, and not just sports complexes with names associated with the same traditions?
- I understand the question. With the current work on holding competitions, it becomes clear that it is necessary to think about popularizing cultural heritage, champions and sports heroes. Until now, there is nothing like this in Tatarstan, even in terms of Olympic sports. And what can be said about koresh and other national sports that do not have recognition of their champions? Our neighbors in Central Asia live more simply, praising their champions, because these are mainly mono-ethnic republics. Therefore, their heroes are folklore, shrouded in certain legends that are part of the culture of ethnic groups.
— It is necessary to make it clear that there is no urgent need to change the name of the wrestling ring yet. Anatoly Alekseevich Bozin is alive, he celebrated his 70th birthday this year, God has granted him a long life.
- Let me clarify that our development and popularization assistant, for which our Federation is responsible, is national. This is both good and not so good.
— There will be several memorable dates next year. Twenty years ago we celebrated the 1000th anniversary of Kazan. We used to be an outsider in terms of sports development, and now we are the "capital of champions". Remember who you were 20 years ago.
— At that time I lived in Almetyevsk and was actively involved in sports. Another thing is that I used to swim and lost this opportunity when the pool closed for two and a half years and my friends and I had to switch to multisport. It is something like a non-Olympic triathlon. There we also participated in military-sports training: swimming, running, shooting and grenade throwing. In my youth, I had a wonderful coach who worked with his students with all his heart, helping them achieve the first standards of a master of sports before going to the army, making it easier for them to endure the hardships of military service.
