AP: Zelensky unveiled 'victory plan' without Western approval
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not wait for Western countries to approve his “victory plan” before making it public, TASS reports, citing the Associated Press (AP).
The publication notes that some of Ukraine's allies are concerned about the deadlines set by the Ukrainian president for the adoption of the main provisions of the plan. At the end of September, the Ukrainian president gave them three months to do so.
On the eve, Zelenskyy publicly announced for the first time his five-point “victory plan.” They include calls for greater use of drones and missiles by Ukrainian forces, greater access to Ukrainian partner intelligence, and “defeating Russian aviation together with its partners.” The last point suggests that Ukrainian troops would participate in strengthening NATO’s defenses in Europe and could even replace US troops in the EU.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said he could not yet say he fully supported all aspects of Zelensky's plan. He noted the need for a "deeper understanding" of many issues and announced private talks.
