Mari El is among the five least littering regions in Russia

YOSHKAR-OLA, October 17, FederalPress. Mari El turned out to be one of the regions of Russia with the least amount of solid household waste per capita. Over the past year, each resident of the republic threw out an average of 217.6 kg of garbage.

The lowest average volume of waste per capita is recorded in Buryatia (127.2 kg per year).

In addition, the top ten areas where residents threw out the least amount of garbage on average included regions of the Volga Federal District: Perm Krai (231.6 kg), Chuvashia (234.9 kg) and Bashkiria (238.5 kg).

Representatives of the Volga region were not included in the top ten regions with the largest amount of waste per capita. However, the regions with the largest amount of household waste in the country included Tatarstan (3.1%), Samara (2.4%), Nizhny Novgorod Region (2.1%) and Bashkiria (2.1%).

In the country as a whole, the clear leaders in this indicator are Moscow and the Moscow region (18.9%).

Earlier, FederalPress wrote about a fire that broke out at a landfill in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The area of ​​the fire was 35,000 m2.
