Moldovan presidential candidate criticizes blocking of Russian media
As RIA Novosti reports, citing the former Prime Minister of the Republic Vasile Tarlev, the Moldovan authorities, who blocked the activities of Russian media, tried to silence everyone who did not praise them.
The politician is a presidential candidate in the upcoming elections on October 20. He spoke out against restricting the work of information sources. Tarlev noted that more than 60 media outlets have been closed across the country, including TV channels, radio stations and information portals.
He noted that the international community has remained silent in this situation and assured that there will be no restrictions for the press if he becomes president.
At the end of September, the Moldovan Information Security Agency demanded that mobile and Internet operators block Moldovan users’ access to seven websites, including six Russian ones.
