The Duma has proposed that single fathers with many children retire early

A group of LDPR deputies will introduce a bill to the House of Commons on the rights of early retirement for single parents with many children, TASS reports, citing the document.

The authors suggested that men raising three, four, five or more children alone should retire at 62, 61 and 55, respectively. Other requirements include a personal pension coefficient of at least 30 years, 15 years of work experience and eight years of child care since becoming a single parent.

The authors explained that currently only single mothers with many children have the right to early retirement.

According to the 2021 All-Russian Population Census, complete families with children in Russia make up only a fifth, or 20.7%, of all households. Among all families with children, single mothers make up 37.7%, and single mothers – 8.2%. Both figures have increased since the beginning of the century.
