18 "snow" points prepared for winter in St. Petersburg
Vodokanal of Saint Petersburg has prepared 18 "snow" points of the city to receive the first snowfall. This was reported by the company's press service.
Of these, 11 have melting snow and 7 have snowfall. The complex is capable of processing up to 101.5 thousand cubic meters of snow per day. Specialists remove sand and debris from snow-melting chambers, remove melt water from snow accumulation points, clean drainage channels and flush sewer networks, calibrate snow mass measurement systems, and perform equipment repair and maintenance.
Until the first snowfall is predicted, urban areas remain in standby mode, not consuming energy resources.
Earlier, 78.ru wrote that residents of the Leningrad Region welcomed the first snow. The pure white blanket added winter charm, but it did not last long.
