Wildberry was tasked with restoring a burned-out warehouse south of St. Petersburg. VB Development, which until recently built all warehouses for online merchants, reported problems with the construction of the complex at 153k2 Moskovskoe Shosse in Shushary to Delovoy Peterburg.

The warehouse was rebuilt after a fire this spring. According to VB Development, the facility is currently about 70-80 percent ready for construction. The warehouse boxes are mostly being prepared and technical lighting is being installed inside. Interior finishing, equipment installation and floor pouring have not yet been completed.
The company said work on the site was halted in September because “the project owners stopped making payments to construction participants,” including VB Development, the general contractor and designer of the complex. The lack of funds forced contractors to halt construction starting in June of this year, and some continued construction for some time without receiving payment. The currently unresolved corporate conflict has stopped not only the construction of online trading in St. Petersburg, but also about 30 other projects in Russia and Belarus, launched with the participation of VB Development. According to the company, in order to resume construction work on all sites, it is necessary to pay off 15 billion rubles of debt. At the same time, Wildberry cannot begin construction on its own. On Wednesday, October 16, VB Development plans to demonstrate the construction halt to journalists and talk about the problems. The press conference is expected to be peaceful. The company says that the security of its facilities is currently ensured jointly with customers. Not long ago, retailers added their own security.
