It's time to change shoes

Winter was remembered not only in Yakutia, but also in Buryatia, Krasnoyarsk, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen and other regions.

The timing in Siberia – when to change summer tires to winter ones – is set only by nature. “All my life I have used a simple sign: I left the house and saw a frozen puddle, so it’s time,” said Vladimir Barkhatov, a driver with 65 years of experience. So, last week we changed the tires on our fitting machines in Krasnoyarsk. And we better hurry. “As soon as the frost comes, there will be many more people willing to do it,” says tire fitter Alexander Konstantinovich. “Then you stood in line for two or three days,” he recalled later!

With the first snowfall, the number of accidents on the roads increases by approximately 70%. Last week, 12 deaths were recorded in Yakutia, two of them fatal.

Last week, Chelyabinsk suspended accepting applications until the end of October. After much persuasion, they took pity on me at the third seminar and offered to come and take first place. But there were already 13 cars there. "And that's not the limit. It will be full in the evening," said master Maxim. "Queues at auto repair shops are predictable. They waited until the last moment and were in no hurry to change their tires," said Dmitry Shirochenko, a teacher at the Yekaterinburg Automobile and Road University. Ural, icy conditions. Studded tires are especially needed today by those who drive outside the city, even at -4 degrees wind. Automotive lawyers are also sounding the alarm, since the number of cases is increasing, given the seasonal accidents.

However, in Yakutia, winter tires wear out in September or earlier. "In Central Yakutia, subzero temperatures have been observed since October, and at the moment it is necessary to use winter tires - the fine for violating this rule is 500 rubles," the regional traffic police press service reported. And, as a rule, owners prepare their cars in advance. But, unfortunately, not all of them. And slippery roads pose a threat to road safety. The number of road accidents has increased significantly in the republic. In the past week alone, 12 accidents occurred, two of which were fatal.

Perhaps many people were actually put off because the price went up. But it still isn't getting any cheaper! In Krasnoyarsk, replacing a tire on an editorial car costs 2,600 rubles compared to 1,800 rubles a year ago. In Yakutia, the cost of these pleasures is about 2,000 rubles. Last year, it was 300-400 rubles cheaper. In the Sverdlovsk region, prices have changed insignificantly. At least in the city of Berezovsky. According to Svetlana, who lives here, tire service prices have not changed much compared to last season. In Chelyabinsk, a car repair shop near a shopping center charges 1,600 rubles for repairing a tire with a diameter of 14 rubles.

- With the first snowfall, the number of accidents on the roads increases by about 70%. And one of the main reasons is that the driver lost control and the car flew into a ditch in the oncoming lane. Or there were cases when the driver did not keep a safe distance.

I don't understand the logic of people who haven't even changed their tires yet. Unfortunately, not everyone thinks about using public transport during this period. It's useless to avoid accidents, and the prices for spare parts have risen enormously. Roughly speaking, even a minor breakdown of a foreign car Skoda Octavia will require repairs to the rear bumper, trunk lid, and lights, which will cost at least 300,000 rubles. To save money, drivers continue to drive on summer tires until the first big snowfall, without resorting to an OSAGO policy. Today, depending on the car manufacturer, its cost ranges from 7 to 15 thousand rubles. And such insurance covers expenses up to 400,000 rubles.
