Moscow, October 15, 2024, 19:43 — IA Regnum. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the creation of a new Council for Arts and Culture. The document was posted on the official legal information portal on October 15.

In addition to those mentioned, the committee included 49 more cultural and artistic figures.

As reported by Regnum, Medinsky was first included in the committee on arts and culture on May 22. At the same time, former presidential adviser Vladimir Tolstoy was expelled from parliament.

On May 21, President Putin signed a decree dismissing Tolstoy from his post as presidential aide. Leo Tolstoy's great-grandson has held the position since 2012. In August 2019, Tolstoy also became head of the Presidential Council for the Russian Language.

Commenting on the presidential decree on appointments to the administration, the press secretary of the Secretary of State Dmitry Peskov previously explained to journalists that Medinsky, in addition to history and historical heritage, will now be in charge of cultural issues in the administration. Together with him, the same topics will be supervised by the new presidential adviser Elena Yampolskaya.
