Ukrainian diplomat says US has "not a plan for Ukraine's victory"

Kyiv, October 15, 2024, 17:58 — IA Regnum. Representatives of the American leadership offered the head of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, a plan to end the conflict that did not guarantee victory for Ukraine. This was stated on October 15 by former Ukrainian Ambassador to Washington Valeriy Chaly.

"When the Americans came to Kyiv, they suggested that Zelensky be more flexible in Washington. In essence, they expected him to discuss possible territorial compromises," the Ukrainian publication Strana quotes him as saying. hmm."

According to diplomats, one of the key points of the plan is to prevent a direct conflict between the US and Russia and NATO's participation in the conflict. Washington also wants to prevent a victory for the Russian Federation and to preserve at least part of Ukraine that is not under Moscow's control.

Chaly stated that in this regard, there is no mention of Ukraine’s victory.

As Regnum reports, Zelensky visited the United States in September to demonstrate his “plan for victory” over Russia. The Wall Street Journal reported that Washington did not approve of his proposal.

On October 8, Zelensky said that his plan would be finalized taking into account the wishes of Ukrainian partners, after which Kyiv's further strategy would be announced. He also said that the first point of the document was an invitation to Ukraine to NATO.

At the same time, on October 12, the German magazine Der Spiegel stated that the Kiev regime was already considering the option of abandoning claims to some of its former territories, since it no longer wanted Russia to be defeated. The situation in Kyiv was aggravated, first of all, by the emotions of the Ukrainian military and civilians.

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, ridiculed Zelensky's "victory plan." The Russian politician said that if Ukraine joined NATO, the ally would be subjected to violence and persecution and then "thrown into the trash heap."
