In St. Petersburg, two female students who were beaten by a classmate were expelled from a university after a complaint
Two students were expelled from the Eastern European Institute of Psychoanalysis (EEIP) in St. Petersburg after complaining about a classmate. One of the victims wrote about this on Facebook (the owner of the Meta company is recognized as an extremist in Russia and banned).
Yuliana K. and Ekaterina D., who were studying for a master's degree at VEIP, were victims of beatings and threats from their classmates. The rector of the university, Mikhail Reshetnikov, was aware of the situation, but, according to the girls, he sided with the attackers and ignored all requests from the victims for protection. At the same time, the student who beat up his classmates continued to harass and threaten them via social networks (SNS). He even followed his victims even after they graduated from the university. The girls inspected the institute together with their classmates, who even signed letters in their defense. However, appeals to the university administration and attempts by the students to fight back against the attackers did not produce results.
"The perpetrator openly threatened people in group chats. After three weeks of unbearable nightmares, the VEIP "Ethics Committee" decided to expel me and the second victim. The attacker must continue training as a psychoanalyst. He continues to stalk me on social media. I suffered a concussion. The beating was recorded and a statement was filed with the police. I have a lawyer. "Our case needs to be publicized," the victim wrote.
The members of the Ethics Committee, which was also attended by the President of VEIP, publicly ridiculed the victims, passionately interrogated them and threatened them. As a result, the expelled girls are now trying to make their circumstances public and demand compensation for moral damages by appealing the commission's decision.
