Prosecutor requests 25 years in prison for man accused of murdering former Krasnodar submarine commander Rzhitsky

Today, in the Krasnodar Regional Court, disputes were held between the parties in the criminal case against Ukrainian citizen Denisenko in the case of the murder of the former captain of the submarine "Krasnodar" Stanislav Rzhitsky on the orders of the Ukrainian special services in July of last year.

The state prosecutors asked the court to find the defendant guilty of murder, illegal possession of weapons and treason. This is due to the fact that at the time of the crime he was a citizen of Russia.

- At the same time, the prosecution indicated that although the defendant deserves life imprisonment, it is legally impossible to sentence him due to his age (65 years old), and proposed sentencing him to 25 years - the maximum punishment provided by law. In strict regime colonies, there are restrictions on freedom and fines, - the district prosecutor's office told Kuban Novosti.

As a reminder, Stanislav Rzhitsky died on July 10, 2023, during a morning jog near the Olimp sports complex on Beregovaya Street in Krasnodar. The perpetrator attacked him, shot him in the back and chest, and then fled. The next day, Sergei Denisenko was detained in Tuapse. A pistol and plane tickets from Sochi to Turkey and Switzerland were found on him. He confessed to the murder.

As previously reported, the accused joined an organized group in October 2022, whose leadership tasked him with killing the former commander of the submarine "Krasnodar" in connection with his official activities. Denisenko was prepared for the crime. He followed the victims, studied their daily routine and received a pistol with a silencer from accomplices. He raided Rzhitsky in a sparsely populated forest area. He fired at least eight shots and then fled the scene. He was immediately detained in the Tuapse region.
