Head of the Ministry of Labor: unemployment benefits will be indexed by 7.3% in 2025

Next year, unemployment benefits will be indexed at 7.3%, resulting in the maximum payment being over 14,742 rubles. This was announced by Labor Minister Anton Kotyakov at a meeting of the State Duma Budget Committee.

According to the minister, unemployment benefit amounts will be indexed for the first time in recent years. This is due to the fact that previously payments were made annually without reference to indexation. Now he claims that this is required by law.

"We have cut spending on unemployment benefits a little because the unemployment rate is at a record low," Kotyakov added.

The unemployment rate in Russia is now at a record low of 2.4%, said Dmitry Bolbakh, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia.

At the same time, President Vladimir Putin earlier said at a meeting with the Russian government that the number of working Russians last year was 73.4 million people. Now, according to the president, this number has grown to 74.1 million.
