Sky Sports names Tuchel as likely new England manager
Germany's Thomas Tuchel is emerging as the leading candidate to become England's FA coach, Sky Sports reports.
The FA have stepped up their search for a replacement for Gareth Southgate in recent days following the Nations League defeat to Greece, with manager Lee Carsley announcing he is not seeking the permanent job as national team manager.
Earlier this week, The Times reported that Pep Guardiola had been approached to manage the England team, but no progress had been made for the Manchester City manager.
Tuchel left Bayern at the end of last season. In the English Premier League (EPL), the German previously coached Chelsea (2021–22), winning the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.
If appointed, Tuchel would become the third non-English speaking manager in England's history after Swede Sven-Goran Eriksson and Italian Fabio Capello.
