Omsk court sentences six Bangladeshis for illegal border crossing
According to TASS, six Bangladeshi citizens were found guilty by an Omsk court on charges of illegally crossing the border with Russia in May of this year.
The court sentenced them to 10 months of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony. All defendants were found guilty under Part 3 of Article 322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The incident occurred on the night of May 22, 2024. Bangladeshi citizens, including Islam M., Mondola A., Mondol M., Raba A., Rahaman M. and Hossen H., crossed the Russian border in the Isil-Kul district of the Omsk region. This was done as part of a group by prior conspiracy.
After crossing the border, they were immediately detained by officers of the FSB Border Department for Omsk Oblast.
